Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and Minatomirai Area

I went to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. The historic Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is located at the port Yokohama, Kanagawa. There are two buildings No.1 and No.2. The two buildings were built in 1911 and 1913 to be customs building. The buildings ended as a role of costumes house in 1989. The buildings were renovated and reborn as commercial facilities in 2002.

The port Yokohama
I got off Nihon-Odori station. The way to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, you can see the port Yokohama. And you also can see some landmark buildings in Yokohama.

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse
Here is the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse.

I really love this wide space. I can't see the place like here in Tokyo.

The buildings are massive and solid. There are stores and restaurants inside of the buildings. Also they have an event space.

Red brick with blue sky was very beautiful.

There was a small park near the warehouse.

Kishamichi Promenade
After I enjoyed the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, I went to Kishamichi Promenade. Kishamichi promenade was a railway truck built in 1911. It connected the costumes shipment house and Yokohama station. After it was abandoned in 1989, it was converted to the boardwalk.

You can see the beautiful Minatomirai area from this 500-meter long boardwalk.

You can see the ferries wheel and roller coaster. Here is the Yokohama Cosmo World. You can enjoy at the amusement park.

The tree buildings with different heights are Queens Square and the building in the shape of crescent is the InterContinental Yokohama Grand Hotel.

This is the Yokohama Landmark Tower. The Yokohama Landmark Tower is the shopping mall, a hotel and an office standing 296 meter.

Minatomirai area is very beautiful and exciting place. I hope that you will enjoy visiting the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and minatomirai area.

  1. Hi, I'm also living in Yokohama city. Thank you for such a nice article to talk about the place.

Have you ever known that the place is going to have a HANABI event this summer?

I heard that the one held in the Yamashita park, Yokohama city will be exciting, it seems that's the newest fireworks recently in Kanagawa and Tokyo. I assume that it's a brand-new trend, then we'll have a meetup under such a nice great fireworks, if you have any interests on it, feel free to join us! http://www.triphugger.com/2015SummerFireworks0718_en.htm
