Shinagawa-Juku, Tokyo

Shinagawa-Juku was the one of the fifty-three station of the Tokaido. The Tokaido is the most important five routs at the Edo era. It's connecting Edo (Tokyo) to Kyoto. Shinagawa-Juku was the closest rout to Edo. People from Kyoto usually stayed for a break, bought something new, eat dishes at  Shinagawa-Juku before getting in Edo. Some people bought a pare of new zouri (shows) to change the zouri worn out. Shinagawa-Juku was the place for getting ready to reach Edo. So Shinagawa-Juku was prosperous because of the closest to Edo.
