Tokyo Metropolitan Government

I went to Tokyo Metropolitan Government in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Tokyo Metropolitan Government is the government of Tokyo. Many tourists visit free observation deck to see the panorama Tokyo view. There are twe observation decks, Sauce tower and North tower. There is a cafe to enjoy the beautiful view of Tokyo.

Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse and Minatomirai Area

I went to the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse. The historic Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse is located at the port Yokohama, Kanagawa. There are two buildings No.1 and No.2. The two buildings were built in 1911 and 1913 to be customs building. The buildings ended as a role of costumes house in 1989. The buildings were renovated and reborn as commercial facilities in 2002.

Shibuya Hikarie

Shibuya Hikarie is a retail complex for shopping, dining and entertainment built in April, 2012 in Shibuya, Tokyo. They also have theater and gallery. Hikarie has cool LED lighting system. Hikarie is the new landmark now in Shibuya.

Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park in Hiroo

Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park is located in Hiroo, Minato, Tokyo. Tha park is built on the hill. There is a wooden area and a pond, streams, bridges, small waterfall. People enjoy fishing and running at the park. There is playground for kids. There are many embassies in Hiroo. So many foreigner visit here too.

Dinosaur Park Shinagawa

Shinagawa-ku kodomono Mori Park is the dinosaur park for children in Shinagawa. It's a nice park for children. The kids love to play with dinosaur. There are eight dinosaurs in this park. You can enjoy the cherry blossoms here. Many children usually play this park. If you have children, you can take them here.

Japanese craft store "Fuyusha" in Sugamo

I found a nice Japanese craft store "Soskaku Chirimen Fuyusha" in Sugamo Jizo Dori Street. Chirimen is crepe. Crepe is a silk. Chirimen is used as a cloth of Kimono. Fuyusha serves the craft, which are used with Chirimen.

Cherry tree in full bloom in the Prince Sakura Tower

I went to see the cherry trees in the Price Sakura Tower in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom on March 30th. The Prince Sakura is in a Three minutes walk from the Shinagawa station.

Cherry Blossoms in the Meguro river

The cherry blossoms season has come!! The cherry blossoms are blooming beautifully now in Tokyo. I went to see the cherry blossoms in the Meguro river on Saturday and Sunday. About 40% of the cherry blossoms were in bloom on Saturday and 60% of them were in bloom on Sunday. It was fine day on Saturday, but it was cloudy on Sunday. I hope that you will enjoy the cherry blossoms photos.

Togenuki Jizoson in Sugamo

I went to Togenuki Jizoson in Sugamo, Tokyo. It's formally called Kogangi temple. It was opened in Yushima in 1596 then relocated in Sugamo in 1891. Togenuki Jizoson is very famous for Togenuki Jizo Statue. People are queuing to pure water and then wash it with a small towel. It is believed that the illness in the part of Jizo Statue you wash will cure.

Sugamo Jizo Dori Shopping Street

I went to Sugamo Jizo Dori Shopping Street. Sugamo is called Many elderly people visit this area. The street has 800 meter long and there are "Grandmas' Harajuku". over 200 stores. They sell clothes, traditional foods and traditional crafts for elderly people.

Oshiruko at Ikegami Ikedaya

Do you like Japanese style sweets? If you come to Japan, I recommend you should have Japanese style sweets at a Japanese style cafe and restaurant. I like sweets, but I cannot eat a lot. Japanese style sweets are not so sweet compare than Western's. Anko has a low calories content. Anko has polyphenols. Polyphenols prevent aging. It's so healthy. We use beans paste called "Anko" instead of cream for stees. My favorite Japanese sweets is Oshiruko.

Tokyo Station is the railway station in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Here is the Marunouchi business area. Tokyo station is the busiest station in Japan in terms of number of trains per day more than 350,000 passengers pass through everyday. Tokyo station is the travel gateway of Shinkansen bullet trains bound for many regions.

Odaiba Seaside Park is located in Odaiba, Minato-ward, Tokyo. Odaiba is one of the sightseeing spots in Tokyo, Japan. You can see the beautiful Tokyo bay, the rainbow bridge and nature. I strongly recommend that you should go to Odaiba to see the beautiful Tokyo bay night view.

Ikegami Plum Garden

Now it's time to see the Japanese plum trees. The best time to see the Japanese plum trees are from the end of February to the middle of March. I went to Ikegami Plum Garden in Ikegami, Oota-ward, Tokyo. About 70% of the plum trees were in bloom. They have 70 trees of the white plum and 220 trees of the red plum. There are 30 kinds of plum trees. They have not only the plum trees, but also 50 trees of the peony and 800 of the azalea.

FELISSIMO NEKOBU in Shibuya Hikarie

Do you like cats? I'm crazy about cats. If you like cats, I hope you will check this shop. The cat goods shop "FELISSIMO NEKOBU (cat club)" is opened for an only limited time from February 19 to March 4th in Shibuya Hikarie. February 22nd was the cat day in Japan. We can call 2.22 "Nyan Nyan Nyan". We say "Nyan" when a cat cry. You say "meow" in English. So the shop was opened for the cat day.

Kanzashi Ya "Wargo" in Tokyo Solamachi

I post about Tokyo Solamachi last post. There are so many stores in Tokyo Solamachi. I'd like to show you the Kazashi store, where I'm interested in. Kanzshi is the traditional hair ornament for women. We put our hair up with Kanzashi. In my image Kanzashi were used in the old days. But recently many fashonable Kanzashi are sold.

Tokyo Solamachi is the large commercial complex base on the Skytree. There are many stores, restaurants, aquarium and planetarium. The Tokyo Skytree is one of the most popular sightseeing spots for foreign tourists in Tokyo. So they offer both Japanese traditional things and trend things such as foods, crafts and food samples.

The Tokyo Skytree is the television broadcasting tower in Sumida, Tokyo. A height is 634 m and it's the tallest structure in Japan and the second tallest structure in the world. The Tokyo Skytree opened on May, 2012. It became a major symbol of Tokyo. It has many restaurants and shops, aquarium and planetarium.

Japanese Style Craft Store "Aito"

There is a Japanese style craft store "Aito" in Shinagawa-Juku. This is my favorite store. They sell the beautiful plates and utensils bring out the flavor of Japanese dishes. Some crafted figures are so cute "Kawaii".

Shinagawa-Juku, Tokyo

Shinagawa-Juku was the one of the fifty-three station of the Tokaido. The Tokaido is the most important five routs at the Edo era. It's connecting Edo (Tokyo) to Kyoto. Shinagawa-Juku was the closest rout to Edo. People from Kyoto usually stayed for a break, bought something new, eat dishes at  Shinagawa-Juku before getting in Edo. Some people bought a pare of new zouri (shows) to change the zouri worn out. Shinagawa-Juku was the place for getting ready to reach Edo. So Shinagawa-Juku was prosperous because of the closest to Edo.

Senso-ji, Asakusa at Night

Senso-ji is the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. It's the most popular temples located in Asakusa, Tokyo, Japan. Two brothers fished a stature of Kannon at the Sumida river in 628. Hajino Nakamaro, who is headman of Asakusa heard about it and built temple. In the early year of Edo, Ieyasu Tokugawa designated as tutelary temple for Tokugawa government. Now around 30 million visitors visit Senso-ji every year.

Kappabashi Dougu Street

I went to Kappabashi Dougu Street. Kappabashi Dougu Street is located in Taito ward between Asakusa and Ueno. Kappabashi Dougu Street is the wholesaler street, selling restaurant requirements such as knives, kitchen utensils, ovens, decorations, restaurant furniture, uniforms and plastic display food. There are 170 shops along the street.

I went to NITORI for shopping. NITORI is home furnishing store. They have furniture, interior and kitchen stuff. The price is reasonable. I sometimes go there to buy furniture.  I bought a rack for my stereo. My parents bought a sofa and a frying pan.

Tokyo Bay Waterfront "Tennoz"

Tennoz is the Tokyo bay waterfront area. This area was redevelopment and changed to urban area in 1985. Tennoz Isle station opened in 1992. It's nice place to see the view of Tokyo bay. You can get the Tennoz Isle station by Tokyo Monorail and Rinkai line. There are many restaurants that you can enjoy seeing the view of Tokyo bay waterfront. I went to Sea Fort Square. There are some restaurants, which you can see the view of Tokyo bay.

Gorgeous Toilet in Gajoen, Japan

I wanted to show you this gorgeous toilet in Megro Gajoen. It's just toilet, but it's almost sightseeing spot. You felt like to come to museum.  Meguro Gajoen is community and amenity space, which was built in 1931. It's very traditional place and everything in Megro Gajoen is art object.

Yamashita Park and Marin Tower in Yokohama

Yamashita Park is a public park in Naka Ward, Yokohama, Kanagawa prefecture. Yokohawa was destroyed by the Great Kanto earthquake on September 1, 1923. Yokohama city made reclamation land, then Yokohama park opened on March 15, 1930. Yokohama park has an area of 74,121 square meters. It's good to take a walk after having dish at Chinatown.

Chinese restaurant "Wangfujing" in Yukohama

I had lunch at the Chinese restaurant "Wangfujing" in Yokohama Chinatown. I often see "wangfujing" was introduced on TV program. So before I go to Chinatown, I decided to go there. This restaurant is known a delicious baked xiaolongbao. Xiaolongbao is a soup dumpling. It's usually steamed, but this restaurant serves baked xiaolongbao.

Yokohama Chinatown, Japan

I went to Chinatown in Yokohama, Kanagawa prefecture. Yokohama Chinatown is the largest Chinatown not only Japan, but also Asia. Chinese trade merchant arrived at Yokohama in 1859. They built school, community center and many facilities in Chinatown. My mom loves Chinese food. So she took me there when I was a child. I like to have steamed meat bun while walking around Chinatown.

It's very cold in Tokyo now. It's good time to drink hot matcha au let for break. Matcha au let tasts sweet. We usually don't put sugar in Japanese tea. I sometimes see Japanese tea with sugar is sold at a shop in overseas. But we drink Japanese tea with non-sugar. So matcha au let is a special.

View of Tokyo from Yebis Garden Place

I went to Yebis Garden Place to see the great view of Tokyo. I saw the view of Tokyo on the 39th floor of the building. I took a beautiful view of Tokyo. Especially I enjoyed Mt. Fuji with a great view of the sunset. There were some restaurants. You can see Tokyo Sky Tree, Tokyo Tower and Rainbow bridge at the restaurants. I could see the north and west side of Tokyo.

COREDO in Nihonbashi

There are four buildings named COREDO in Nihonbashi, COREDO Nihonbashi, COREDO Muromachi 1, COREDO Muromachi 2 and COREDO Muromachi 3. COREDO is a commercial complex. COREDO Nihonbashi opened in 2004. COREDO Muromachi opened in 2010. Then COREDO Muromachi 2, 3 opened on 2014. Many old departments and shops are in Nihonbashi. It's rare that some new commercial complex targeted for younger generations were built in Nihonbashi. All of 4 COREDO buildings are directory connected to the Nihonbashi station.

Illumination in Osaki, Japan

You can see still the illumination in Osaki. There used to be nothing in Osaki. But Osake was redeveloped several years ago. There are many tall buildings and apartments, but also many greens. I often go to Osaki. But I never seen the illumination. I was surprised that it was so beautiful.

Hatsumode, the first visit to shrine

Japanese people visit to a shrine to pray for our happiness and good health during New Year. This is called "Hatsumode", the first visit to a shrine. Meiji shrine in Tokyo is attracting the largest visitors around 3 million people. I visited to shrine near my house on January 1st and then visited to Hiei shrine in Akasaka on January 5th.
